Blanket Volleyball

3.5 shiney stars

This game is just like normal volleyball, but each team is given a blanket.

The team should stand around the edge of the blanket, stretching it out so it is tight. The 'serving' team should start by placing the ball on the blanket, loosening then brining it tight so it 'throws' the ball over the net.  The other team then use their blanket to catch the ball then throw it back.

It's an interesting and fun variation to the more traditional style of volleyball.

We played this game at a youth retreat one summer. It's a good idea but is just too difficult to play for almost any age I have found.

I played this at a camp, except we used a small tarp, and water balloons.

We played beach bum volley ball, you hang a sheet over the net or between 2 trees and each team has to sit on their bums and you can use one or more beach balls. Lots of laughter to follow!

We played this tonight- we used square table cloths instead of blankets- it was hilarious!

I'd suggest instead of a ball use a water ballon - it would be cooler
